Youth told the consequenses of alcohol

A number of high schools are now offering courses aimed at teaching students the consequenses of alcohol. These courses have led to less abuse of alcohol among young people. A number of high schools are now offering courses aimed at teaching students the consequenses of alcohol. These courses have led to less abuse of alcohol among young people. - We focus on which expectations the young people have to alcohol, and which precautions one should take, says aocial anthropologist Bjarte Boe. Thousands of high school students now participate in these courses, which have been developed on behalf of the Breweries Association. The instruction given is not presented in the form of a scare campaign, but is rather focusing on the acute damage alcohol may cause among inexperienced youth. The 10-hour course also tries to clear up misunderstandings about alcohol. A poll taken among 1000 students in the county of Hordaland before and after the project started shows that many students changed their attitude towards alcohol. The number of students who thought they would get drunk at the next party was reduced by 10 per cent, and another 12 per cent said they would not consume alcohol at all. (Newswire) Rolleiv Solholm
