Shipping, Oil and GasBusiness - Shipping, Oil and Gas Aker Solutions has signed a contract with Repsol Investigaciones Petroliferas S.A. for delivery of subsea equipment to the Spanish oil company's Mediterranean wells. Contract value is around NOK 120 million.

Statoil has extended its contracts with Schlumberger Norge AS and Baker Hughes Norge AS for integrated drilling services. The extensions are valid for two years from the autumn of 2010. 
President and CEO of Statoil, Helge Lund, (photo) together with president of Lukoil, Vagit Alekperov, have signed the development and production service contract for West Qurna 2, near Basra in Iraq. 
Norwegian engineering and construction company Aker Solutions is the lowest bidder for a four-year frame agreement to supply 61 subsea trees to Brazilian national oil company Petrobras. 
An oil spill in the far North will do more damage to the environment than a spill further south. The reason is that the eco-systems in the North are more vulnerable, a new scientific report shows.
The Government has decided to offer 38 production licenses in the awards in predefined areas 2009 (APA 2009). The licenses are distributed among the North Sea (25), the Norwegian Sea (10) and the Barents Sea (3).
