The Norwegian Ministry of Trade and Industry traveled to Silicon Valley to meet with Norwegian businesses and entrepeneurs who have established themselves in the U.S.'s "tech capital."
"We are here to learn from the experts, exchange knowledge and develop our relations," says State Secretary in the Ministry of Trade and Industry, Jeanette Iren Moen.
Moen escorted the Crown Prince and Princess on their visit to San Francisco and Houston from May 5-9, and brought several representatives from the Norwegian business sector to Silicon Valley.
The reason for their visit was to take a closer look at Norwegian innovation technology and expertise, which Moen says is among the best in the world. The goal has been to promote Norway's competency within technology in the U.S., and help more Norwegian businesses establish and strengthen their position on the American market.
Moen says that there is already a close connection between Norway and Silicon Valley. "Several Norwegian companies have partnerships and licensing agreements with their American counterparts in the U.S., and a considerable effort has been invested in trying to transfer knowledge from this innovative environment," Moen explains.
She emphasizes that this will still be an important task for Innovation Norway and for new Norwegian technology businesses with international potential.
