The police is at present able to confiscate only around three per cent of all the heroin that is being smuggled into Norway. Last year, the police and customs confiscated 45 kilos of Heroin in Norway.
In 2009, the State Institute for Research on Drugs (Sirus) estimated that the annual consumption of heroin in this country was around 1500 kilos, Aftenposten writes.
During the nine weeks from December last year to the middle of February this year, the police confiscated close to 35 kilos of powder containing heroin in Oslo.
