The Norwegian Consumer Price Index (CPI) rose by 0.6 per cent from August to September 2010, mainly due to increased prices on clothing, according to Statisstics Norway (SSB).
The consumer price index (CPI) was 128.6 (1998=100) per September 2010, compared to 126.4 at the same time in 2009.
This corresponds to a year-to-year growth of 1.7 per cent in September 2010, down by 0.2 percentage points from last month. The year-to year growth in the CPI-ATE was 0.9 per cent, down 0.5 percentage points from August 2010.
The price growth is lower than expected, and many analysts believe that an increase in the Central Bank's pilot interst rate will come in May next year, rather than around New Year, as had been predicted earlier, Aftenposten writes.
