Many analysts feared that the global financial crisis and unemployment would also reach Norway this year. Instead, new prognoses show that this will not happen.
According to the National Labour Office (NAV), 100,000 new jobs will be created this year and the next.
Despite the fact the working population is increasing and in need of new jobs, there is still an increasing need for workers.
This will mean a further decrease in unemployment this year, to 2.4 per cent, and still further, to 2.2 per cent next year, according to NAV.
The greatest need for more hands is within the health and social services, oil related indistries and in building and construction.
