Statoil looks to Myanmar

altNorwegian energy provider Statoil is looking into the possibility of exploring for oil and gas in Myanmar, and several company delegations have already been there to consider the situation.

The last delegation was in Myanmar, formerly Burma, this month, Dagens Næringsliv writes.

Statoil representatives have had talks with Myanmar's exploration and production company MRPL E&P, the country's largest private oil company.

This is confirmed by its owner, Michael Moe Myint, the newspaper writes.
