Norwegian arms export nearly doubled last year Norway exported arms and ammunition worth more than NOK 3 billion last year. This is an increase of 44.5 per cent over the previous year, according to Norwatch. Arms export to the US shows the greatest increase.
The arms export to the US has now reached NOK 1.7 billion, an increase of 85.6 per cent. Most of the arms exported from Norway will be used on the battlefield, according to Norwatch, in particular parts for artillery, grenade launchers, launching pads for rockets as well as flame throwers and grenades. The second lagest export category consists of bombs, torpedoes, mines, rockets and other war materials.
