Grain harvest threatened
Earlier in the season the outlook for a prime harvest was promising, but that was before the heavy summer rains set in. Even with several days of dry weather coming up, the farmers fear it is too late. Many say much of the grain is no longer fit for flour production, and will have to be used for animal fodder. In turn, this will mean higher imports of grain from the world markets, where prices are already on the way up. (NRK)
