Licences for new aqua farms distributed
The three northernmost counties were granted nearly half of the new licences, with seven to Finnmark, eight to Troms and 15 to Nordland. Nord-Troendelag were granted eight, and Soer-Troendelag seven, while Moere og Romsdal, Sogn og Fjordane and Hordland five each. Five licences were set aside for ecological aqua farming. In Finnmark each licence will cost NOK 3 million, while in the rest of the nation the cost is NOK 8 million for a new licence. Growth In Norwegian Seafood Exports ContinuesThe export value of Norwegian seafood in January totalled NOK 4.2 billion. This is an increase of NOK 684 million or 19% compared to January 2010, according to figures from the Seafood Export Council.
