Rybak wins Russian music award

Norway's winner of last year's European Song Contest, Alexander Rybak, on Saturday won the prestigious Russian MUZ-TV annual award for best new-comer, the first non-Russian artist to win the prize.

Rybak is very popular in Russia, and had been nominated for altogether three categories.

- This was unexpected. I am very pleased indeed. I hope I am now established in the Russian market, Rybak said to NRK.
