Actor Arve Opsahl dies at 85 One of Norway's most well known actors and comedians, Arve Opsahl, has died at the age of 85. He died in his sleep at Diakonhjemmet Hospital in Oslo.
He had been admitted to hospital about two months ago, after a period of declining health.
Opsahl was probably best known in the last decades for his role as Egon Olsen in the popular series 'Olsenbanden' (The Olsen Gang), a comedy thriller in which Olsen's grandiose plans for 'the coup of their lives' always ended in disaster. However, in his 60 years of acting, Opsahl was also given a number of serious roles, in which he showed what a talented actor he truly was.
