Norwegians pay more for their beer than their cousins in the other Nordic countries. Norwegian beer is twice as expensive as Danish beer. Norwegians pay more for their beer than their cousins in the other Nordic countries.

Norwegian beer is twice as expensive as Danish beer, even when state taxes have been deducted, according to Jyllands-Posten.One litre of Danish beer costs NOK 7.32 when taxes have been deducted, while the Norwegian beer costs NOK 13.32, a survey shows.

The Swedes have to spend NOK 11.26 plus tax.

Norway also tops the list when it comes to tax, since 62 per cent of what we pay in total for the beer ends up in the state coffers.

In Finland 51 per cent of the total cost ends up as tax, while in Sweden the percentage is 49, and in Denmark 42 per cent.
