Gas leak at refinery - 200 evacuated |

 More than 200 persons were evacuated from the Mongstad Refinery Monday morning, when explosive mixture of propane and methane gas began leaking from a pipeline. No one was injured, and the leak was stopped.
The gas is also dangerous to inhale, and evacuation of the refinery was immediately ordered when the alarm sounded at 09:30. Police, the fire brigade and ambulanse went to the scene, but the leak was under control by 10:30. Those evacuated were able to return to work shortly after noon. (NRK) Rolleiv Solholm |
