The strike by nurses at private nursing homes was stepped up Thursday, and 100 nurses in Oslo, Stavanger, Bergen and Bærum are now on strike. The strike began on Tuesday.
There has so far not been any contact between two sides in the conflict, NRK reports. The nurses in the private sector are demanding pension and a minimum salary level equal with nurses in the public health service. It is eight years since nurses last went on strike in Norway.
