Norway's men secured a 30-27 victory over host nation Austria in their first match of the middle round of the European Handball Championships in Graz on Monday. Norway led 15-12 at half-time.

Norway's victory was to a large degree thanks to goalkeeper Steinar Ege, who was congratulated by his team mates after the match.

Håvard Tveten and Bjarte Myrhol scored six goals each for Norway. Kjetiul Strand and Erlend Mamelund five each.

Norway now has four points before meeting Denmark on Tuesday.
