Increasing number of Islamic congregations |

The number of Islamic religous communities in Norway has increased by 40 per cent since the year 2000, accoording to the newspaper Vårt Land. 126 registered congregations now receive state support.
Islam is now the second largest religion in Norway. Of the members of religious communities outside the Norwegian Lutheran State Church, those registered in Islamic congregations constitute 21 per cent. (NRK) Rolleiv Solholm |
