US President Barack Obama left Oslo Friday morning, after he was driven to Oslo Airport Gardermoen by car, and not by helicopter. This ment that highway E6 was closed to other traffic during this time.
Obama was accompanied to the airport by head of the Norwegian Nobel Committe, Thorbjørn Jagland and Committee Secretary Geir Lundestad. The presidental plane Air Force One left Oslo Airport at 10:55 local time, a little later than first scheduled. As soon as the President and First Lady left Grand Hotel, all security barriers were removed from around the hotel and the surrounding streets, permitting normal traffic in downtown Oslo.
