Another Munch picture stolen Print E-mail

Image A second litograph by the Norwegian painter Edvard Munch, worth NOK 2.5 million, was stolen from an Oslo art dealer this summer, but the police chose to keep the theft a secret until now.

The litograph "Løsrivelsen II" (The breaking away), disappeared from the art gallery Kaare Berntsen in Oslo between June 12th and 25th, when the gallery moved to a new location.

The picture now appears on an international list of stolen art, and will also be sought in Norway.

Last week the Munch litograph "Historien" (The History) was stolen from an art dealer in downtown Oslo.
