Norway beat Switzerland 1-0 in a friendly in Geneva Saturday evening, Switzerland's first loss in 2009. John Carew (Aston Villa) scored for Norway on a penalty after 48 minutes.

The Swiss side seemed to posess the ball most of the time, but had trouble breaking through the compact Norwegian defence.

The penalty was awarded after Morten Gamst Pedersen was brought down by Philipp Degen inside the penalty area three minutes into the second half.
