Eva Joly adviser to Icelandic justice minister |

Norwegian corruption hunter Eva Joly has been appointed special adviser to Iceland's Minister of Justice. She will assist in the investigation into the possibility of economic crime in connection with the bank crisis in Iceland.
Joly says to the Icelandic newspaper Morgunbladid that it is important to find out where the money went, and that more effort must be put into investigating such crime. The governing coalition of the Social Democratic Alliance and Left-Green Movement in Iceland intends to submit a bill to the Althingi (Parliament) greatly extending the authorisation of the Special Prosecutor to gather and demand information and data for the investigation of individual issues linked to the country's economic collapse. Eva Joly has most recently been adviser to the Norwegian Development Aid Agency (NORAD) and before that she was adviser to the Norwegian Ministry of Justice. Eva Joly first become famous in France and internationally for her ceaseless fight against corruption in France, most noteably her work with the investigations of the Elf oil company case and the bank Credit Lyonnaise.
