Women Football: Riise leaves for the US |

Hege Riise will leave her job as coach for the Norwegian women's club Team Stroemmen to become assistant coach for the US national team under head coach Pia Sundhage.
Riise, former top player on Norway's national women's team until 2005, has coached Team Stroemmen for three seasons, and last year her team won silver in both the series and the Cup. In her career, 39-year-old Riise has played 188 international matches with Norway, a Norwegian record, and was elected Norway's top women player ever. One of Riise's first matches with the US team will be the against Norway in the Algarve Cup in March, VG reports. (NRK/VG) Rolleiv Solholm |
