The Zimbabwe opposition party MDC wants Norway to use its influence to create international pressure against the government of Zimbabwe.
A delegation from the Movement for Democratic Change (MDC) has visited Norway to create support for its cause, after the MDC officially lost the presidental election earlier this month.
Since Norway, as the only European country, had its own observers in Zimbabwe during the presidential election, and since Norway is presently chairing the UN Security Council, the MDC hopes Norway will take special responsibility for putting pressure on President Mugabe and his government.
Member of the Zimbabwe parliament and campaign manager for the MDC, Paul Themba, heads the delegation, which met with the Norwegian National Associations of Labour Unions (LO) and Norwegian People's Aid.
They were also scheduled to meet with the Undersecretary of State, Vidar Helgesen.
