Major Aker contract in the Mexican Gulf

Aker Kvaerner has acquired a major contract from the US company Chevron in the Mexican Gulf. The contract is valued at NOK 840 million (USD 120 million).

Aker Kvaerner is to supply a newly developed semi-submersible platform for the Blind Faith Field, supplied with an anchoring system for deep water.

The Norwegian company is to supply both engineering services, purchases, construction and transport to the field.

The field is located 162 miles south east of New Orleans, with depths of up to 2200 metres.

In a company press release, Aker Kvaerner states that it considers this contract a breakthrough for its deep-water technology.
