Seafood Exports Down in October

Norwegiaan seafood worth nearly NOK 5.5 billion was exported in October. This represents a downturn of NOK 345 million or 6% compared with the same month last year.

Norwegian seafood export down

Norway exported seafood worth NOK 3.5 billion in August, down NOK 120 million from the same month last year. The reason is lower prices for fresh salmon on the world markets.

Salmon prices lowest in eight years

Norwegian salmon farmers are at present exporting their fish at a loss. It is eight years since the price on salmon was as low as it is now, NRK reports.

Growing salmon exports

The value of the export of Norwegian Salmon in May totalled NOK 2.6 billion. This is the highest export value for Norwegian Salmon ever registered for the month of May.

Aker Seafoods renews trawler fleet

Aker Seafoods has concluded an agreement with STX OSV AS to build three modern trawlers. The trawlers will have a new hull shape, reduced fuel consumption and an increased catch capacity.
