The export of Norwegian salmon continues to increase. The toal value for January reached NOK 1.8 billion, the highest for the month of January ever, and NOK 260 million higher than for the same month last year.
This is shown by the latest figures from the Export Council for Fish.
- The reason for the strong increase is the growing demand for Norwegian salmon globally, says the Council's marketing analyst Paul Aandahl.
Although Europe is still the most important market for Norwegian salmon, the largest increase in sales is found in the US and Asia.
