Cross country skiing: 30km win by Northug
Northug won by 51.4 seconds ahead of France's Maurice Manificat, who on the last stretch outsprinted Czech skier Lukas Bauer who ended in third. Northug already has three golds and a silver this season and now leads the World Cup standings by 77 points, ahead of Switzerland's Dario Cologna, who ended adisappointing 21st on Saturday. On the women's side, Norway's Marit Bjørgen continued her dominance of the season, by leading the field from start to finish, winning by over 40 seconds, ahead of compatriots Vibeke Skofterud and Therese Johaug in second and third, respectively. The three also top the World Cup standing, in the same order. Bjørgen has so far collected five golds and a silver from the first seven races this season. (NRK/Aftenposten)

Norway's top cross country skier, Petter Northug, put on another stunning performance to win the men's 30km freestyle cross country skiing World Cup race in Davos, Switzerland on Saturday.
Saturday's "Skarverennet", the annual cross country ski-touring race with 12,220 participants in the Hallingskarvet mountains is often said to mark the end of the skiing season in Norway.
