Voters favour welfare over tax relief

Norwegian voters think that welfare is more important than lower taxes, according to a July poll. This is seemingly in conflict with the fact that the Conservative Party leads the opinion polls. This is seemingly in conflict with the fact that the Conservative Party leads the opinion polls.According to ACNielsen's poll for the Labour Press, the electorate is of the opinion that education is the most important issue for this fall's election, followed by health and welfare, and social issues including youth and children, issues which aare stressed by the Labour Party. The Conservative Party's main topics in the elction campaign, taxation, ranks fourth in the poll. Confusing as it seems, it is the Conservative Party that leads the political polls, despite the fact that the ACNielsen poll shows that the voters actually agree that the issues stressed by the Labour Party are the most important also to them.
