Professor of Archaeology at the Science Museum, Kalle Sognnes, says the find is sensational. -This is really a great experience. I believe the find is very special even in all of Northern Europe. In particular that the man is depicted in full size, and on snowshoes, is special, Sognnes says to NRK. -It is difficult to judge how old the carvings really are, but from the way the rock has become worn down, I would say they might be several thousand years old, Sognnes says. -There has earlier been found a carving of a small man in Alta in Finnmark, and three in Northern Russia.
